The Nursery

We've been working very hard on getting the house ready for the baby's arrival, and we're finally ready to unveil the nursery. The room has come a long way since we moved in. Gone are the pea-green walls and star-speckled ceiling, and the room's stint as a study proved to be rightfully shortlived. Many thanks to our friends and family, whose contributions have been exceedingly generous and thoughtful. Take a look!

Dance Dance Incarceration

I've never been more thrilled/proud/ashamed/exhilerated to be a Filipino in my life. Thousands of prisoners in Cebu executing the "Thriller" choreo flawlessly. Somebody send Twyla Tharp to the Philippines to work with these guys!

New Blanket

A $20 sage-colored blanket goes a long way in livening up a room. Our spare bedroom gets a nice lift of color from this inexpensive find from our local Target. Okay, I admit it. I just wanted an excuse to post this picture of Simon, but it's still a nice blanket.

Shopping for Sharing

Since we'll soon have lots of photos to share with all of you, I'm checking out some different photo-sharing possibilities. The list of options has grown considerably since the early days of ofoto, and I've got a lot of catching up to do. Google's Picasa looks promising to me, and as I've proven with my choices of Blogspot and Google Video, I'm kind of a sucker for vertical integration. Go Fell Aunt Rhodie

At long last, we erased the giant rhododendron that obscured the north half of our housefront. The thing had been getting out of control and growing wild. Plus, it didn't even have that many blooms this year. Now, all of a sudden, our dining room looks bigger. We never knew we had such a nice view!

Sunday Dinner

Our most ambitious iMovie project yet. We capped off a very busy weekend by having dinner with my brother Joel and his family at our house. Extra credit to anybody who can correctly identify the song and artist in the soundtrack.

What to do with all those baby clothes...

The influx of baby clothes for the next Ms. de la Fuente has commenced in earnest, but of course she's not here to use them yet. Lucky for us, Simon has figured out a good use for one of the bibs we received. Here he is in all his superhero glory, modeling a snazzy number from Katie's friend Kate.

Our New Home on the Web

Hi, everybody. Since a lot of people had trouble viewing our videos through .mac (I never thought Apple would require ActiveX on their little websharing pages), I've decided to go a little more mainstream by getting us a space here and hosting our videos on Google. There are some really good pluses to this new forum:

• you can subscribe (see link on the right-hand side) with your preferred news/blog-reader, ensuring that you never miss an update
• you can insert comments
• it should be easy to view any videos I put here, and they'll all be in the same place

So, add this page to your bookmarks and/or subscribe to the feed. I'll probably be posting more videos here in the weeks leading up to the baby. Once she gets here, you can bet the action will be fast and furious. We look forward to hearing from you!

House Update

With Katie done with teaching for the year, we've had more time to devote to home improvement. New curtains, new furniture, a manicured lawn...all good things for summer. The dogs seem to enjoy it, too.
