Three Birthday Cakes

I somehow finagled three birthday cakes out of one birthday this year. Katie made the first one on my actual birthday, which we spent quietly at home. My brother and niece came over for a little while, conveniently showing up right after the cake got cut.

The other two cakes came about over the weekend, when we hosted a few friends at the house for dinner. Katie made another ice cream cake. Instead of her now-famous igloo cake, Katie whipped up a torte that alternated between layers of coffee ice cream and chocolate fudge. All of it was neatly packed into a cinnamon graham cracker crust. Our friend Kelly brought a traditional German chocolate cake, which was equally delectable.

If you can't see the embedded videos below, the two movies can be seen here and here.

Christmas Video

Here is a video of Christmas at our house last month. Katie prepared a wonderful Christmas meal, and the extended family had a terrific time together. Click here if you do not see the embedded video below.

This Is How She Rolls

Of course, when I really needed my camcorder tonight, it's battery was completely dead. Lucky for me, my phone was handy to catch some footage of Maggie's first successful rolls. The images are a little crude, but I assure you that's really Maggie!

UFC: Ultimate Frolicking Canines

A year after living together, Cassie and Simon have finally hit their stride. Maybe they realized that, with Maggie around, the two of them had to rely more on one another for entertainment. Whatever the case, here's a look at our two dogs in one of their more playful moments.

More Thanksgiving

With all the commotion around the holidays, it has been difficult to get all that video footage into the computer and onto the blog. Here's a little more footage from Thanksgiving. It picks up precisely where the previous video left off, with the dogs begging for turkey.

This is my first project with the new iMovie 08. It's a lot different from the previous version of iMovie, which I used to produce all the other videos on the blog. Pros and cons, naturally. Let me know what you think!
